This Body

Tessa McWatt

"This Body is about food, fathers and family.  Situated in London in the 21st century the story invites the reader to rethink identity in a globalized world, where roots have been replaced by wings for they better symbolize the complex web of relationships that connect us to people and places."

Maria van Enckevort, Society for Caribbean Studies Newsletter

Set in London, Toronto and Guyana, This Body is a rich and moving portrait of great depth and authenticity conveying secrets that usually remain untold - those of desire, loss, identity, and of love lost and found. Tessa McWatt has created a novel that stands out for both its beauty and originality.

Macmillan commissions Caribbean artists to produce the front cover illustrations, which give the series a distinctive and dynamic appearance.
